Apparently, there is another type of computer out there, called a Macintosh. I think it's made by the company that became famous for IPods. Are you using such a computer? Please post here.
Seriously... Rx, who is one of those Mac folks, is not able to register at this site, although he really wants to. Really. Anyways, we are wondering if this Site is PC-compatible only. If so, that will kill this forum dead in its tracks. Any thoughts?
I'm on a Mac and there is no problem. Perhaps X is not accepting cookies - which would prevent him from logging on. (In Safari Preferences, choose Security, Accept Cookies Always or Only from sites you navigate to.)
Either that or the new admins don't want him here :)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(for your information Macs get less viruses.....they dont have any down sides(besides some games not being made for them)......and are alot faster.)
thats what i say Mr.PC's are better than mac's!!!!!
^ Chill. He was being sarcastic. I'm using Linux (Ubuntu, so is Player36), and I'm not even home- I brought my laptop along on my visit-relatives trip. My uncle was a bit freaked when he figured out what I was running, but this site works fine. I registered and posted on the go. And since Macs are based on UNIX, like Linux, they should have no problem. By the way, Linux CD-ripping software is excellent- SoundJuicer can break some DRMs (I ripped my brand-new copy of eMOTIVe, which has CopyControl).
If we really think about it, it all comes down to personal choice. If your looking for a good, solid computer for less - then you get a PC. If you want a computer with a accredited user interface and are willing to pay a little more - then you get a MAC.
I have a mac, and I love it - but I don't hate PCs. I have my negatives and positives for both.
I say Mac is more of a business computer and PC is more of a gaming computer....But i still love macs way better.I have never had a virus in my life...ever...thats my family actually...so lets say when ur on a PC ur doing this.......and mac this......Mac is working PC is Gaming.END OF STORY!!!!!!

Just because a few game developers are slow making them mac compatible, it doesnt make a Mac "more of a business computer". PC's are used for your average boring typing, slideshows, documents blah blah blah.... Mac's are there for the media side.... The fun stuff... And yes, it is used in many business's... But not for your average business... I wouldnt call widgets anything to do with business lol or everything else that makes Macs fun and exciting.
My friend builds PC's for a living, and he got a Mac this Christmas... And hes in love... Spent loads of time teaching him all the cool and nifty tricks..
I cant wait till the new range of Macs come out next month :D Thats the time to buy my new Mac hehe

"End of story"... Hardly. Macs can game just as well as PCs, and Linux boxen are downright ownage. I've never gamed on a Mac, but I haven't heard anything negative about it, and here's my experience on the other 2 OSes: Windows: Major lag every half-minute or so, even with background apps kept to a minimum, usually at an important time (i.e., right before a goal). Linux: Considerably less lag. Usually higher scores. Background apps? What background apps? Who writes spyware for Linux (or Mac OS)? And Jay, about "all that stuff that makes Macs exciting": Point taken- Windows doesn't have most of those features. There are add-on apps like Konfabulator that can give you those capabilities, but most of them are loosely-integrated at best, and usually cost major ka-ching. Dashboard is built-in, for example. With Linux running GNOME, however, there are some useful add-ons you can download for free, like GDesklets or Beagle. Not to mention, KDE and GNOME come with some apps you can add to your panel, which give Linux some awesome features (indexed searching, quick file browsing, clipboard management, etc) that Windows lacks. Macs have Dashboard widgets, Linux has its panel apps. Even a minimalist desktop like XFCE has some nifty gadgets. EDIT: I'll give Windows Vista one thumb up, though: It looks cool. That's what PCLinuxOS, which looks almost exactly like it, is for. Beee-yatch!
PC- I had to install my logitech mouse. Ok, it took five minutes and a bit of tweaking. My Mac- Plug and done! Joystick PC- Took about half an hour to copy the files and get everything staitened out. Mac- Pow, plug and played.
Macs I have found are very easy to add things to. Yeah, it is a little bit harder for the inner workings, but you can add almost anything you want on the outside. You can cotomize it UBERLY easier than with a PC (Specially if you get ShapeShifter) and common, a calculator that does WORD PROBLEMS! I love it. The only reason a lot more stuff isn't made for macs is souley because MS has a monopoly over the buisness. People seem to be afraid to try anything else. Windows is a decent operating system, but OSX gives you so many little tricks and such that you d-
Getting into arguing mode. Must get out.
... I'm on a mac. Again.

Can you build your own Mac? No. I'm not talking abo0ut availibility of things, I'm talking about customization. You can't even change themes on a Mac without paying $20? Gimme a break. But if you're cool with it, then that's fine.
