I'm having issues with my laptops (age mainly). Ever since you upgraded I haven't been able to play on your server. I'll try to describe my lag on yours and phobik's.

Yours: my tank is visibly jerky. When I fire, all bullets fire but there is a visible lag so that even if I aim ahead of a tank my bullets end up far behind it. This happens to some degree every time I'm on your server.

Phobik's: occasional 5 or more second screen freeze. When I fire sometimes not all bullets fire or they stagger like shot shot.............shot shot shot........shot. This happens probably 50% of the time I'm on Phobik's.

I'm pretty sure I can't just blame the servers so it must be my pc or my isp.
Any guesses?

Well,, I think it is probably a combination of all things. I will elimanate one thing on my server very soon I will have it run on the linux op system which will help emensly. I will aslo see about a new router or reconfigure it. Once on linux and configured, no one should lag thats  within 3000 miles. The weird thing is there are players from Europe that play smooth while others in the states claim the same trouble your having.

I already have Linux installed but it is 64 bit and think tanks will not run on it. I'm trying to resolve in a forum but I may just need to downgrade to 32 bit linux.

I think a router would help on your end CB. I had some trouble a few years back and found out that my router just couldn't take it anymore. I Upgraded to this http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/netgear-wndr3700-rangemax-dual/4505-3319_7-33485574.html#reviewPage1

That helped a bunch. Its not the high dollar one but it did help my network tremendously.

It almost seems like the pref.cs file hasn't been updated.
